About me

Jan Koren lives and works in Vleuten. After studying as a graphic designer at the art academy, he worked in advertising for 37 years. After his career as a designer, he was finally able to focus on free work.

The development from figuration to abstraction took several years. Shapes that emerge from the subconscious are depicted in an abstract impressionist style. The colorful compositions derive their feeling mainly from nature, people, animals, and are often multi-interpretable. He now mainly paints with a palette knife to achieve the desired result with thickly applied oil paint.
